WATER HEATERS

The Average Life of a Water Heater is 10 Years. How Old is Yours?

Conventional water heaters use a storage tank to supply hot water to your entire house, but as they age you may notice leaks, funny sounds or signs of rust. A few simple repairs may help it run more efficiently and also last longer. If you do need a replacement, we’ll keep your water flowing with dependable Rheem gas water heaters or Rheem or State electric water heaters installed to code with permits and inspections when required.

TANKLESS WATER HEATERS

Switch to Tankless, Save Money and Maximize Hot Water

Tankless water heaters are also known as on-demand water heaters because they only heat the water when you need it. This cuts down on energy used to heat the water and delivers a constant supply of hot water. Other benefits are that their small size saves space, they last for up to 20 years and the risk for bacteria growth is reduced when compared with conventional water heaters.

GARBAGE DISPOSALS

Is Your Magic Food Grinder on the Fritz?

High quality garbage disposals have stainless steel blades that cut everything up small and then wash it all freely through your pipes. We carry a ¾ horsepower InSinkErator disposal with a 3-year warranty on the truck at all times. To keep it running smooth, don’t put bones, eggshells, thick rinds, stringy vegetables or anything hard in it. Keep cold water flowing while grinding and every now and then clean your disposal with a handful of crushed ice.

VIDEO INSPECTION

Cutting-Edge Technology Ensures Less Intrusive Investigation

In the past, plumbers would have had to tear up your property to diagnose the cause for a pipe blockage, crack or leak. Now, video inspections run a small, high-resolution camera through the sewer or drain lines to pinpoint where and what the problem is, how deep it is and what’s involved in correcting the problem before it escalates. As a follow-up, we provide homeowners with a DVD of the camera inspection.

DRAIN CLEANING & REPAIR

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow! Kick Those Nasty Clogs

Kitchen sinks, washing machine lines, bathtubs and sinks, showers, toilets and main drains --they’re all subject to clogging. Warning signs include slow draining, leaking or pungent odors. Our drain machines will usually do the trick. If you’ve ever noticed that water gurgles in the toilet, this may indicate a deeper problem with the main line. In these situations, we will utilize our video inspection system and a larger drain machine to clear the problem.

WATER MAINS

Blown Away By Your Recent Water Bill?

A damaged water main may be the culprit. Your water main is the pipe that connects your home plumbing to the public water supply. As these water lines age, leaks may occur and it’s necessary to replace it. Brian Long Plumbing can handle the job with skill and minimal disruption to your home and property. It would be prudent to have your water main inspected and serviced every year as a preventative measure.

PLUMBING INSPECTIONS

Buying a Home and Checking All Your Boxes (and Pipes)?

A total plumbing home inspection is what you need. While general home inspectors can check out water pressure, for example, they wouldn’t be able to give the all-clear for the sewer lines without the help of an experienced plumber. We insert a snake attached to a small digital camera to use in our search for any problems, provide you with a detailed description of the condition of the sewer and make a list of anything we find along with estimates for repair. You have enough to worry about when buying a new home; let us do our part to ease your mind.

PRESSURE REGULATION

Take the Pressure Off with PRVs!

In case you’re unfamiliar with plumber lingo, PRV stands for Pressure Relief Valve and its purpose is to control the flow and pressure of water entering your home. Most people don’t realize that high water pressure can be detrimental your home’s pipes and substantially increase your water bill. The city requires that all homes have pressure-reducing valves installed to keep pressure at 75 PSI (pounds per square inch) or less. We carry plenty of PRVs on our truck.

INSTANT HOT WATER

Tired of Waiting and Wasting Water?

We install Grundfos hot water recirculating pumps on your conventional water heaters to eliminate cold-water runoff at the faucet and give you instant hot water at your sinks and appliances. The system improves the efficiency and effectiveness of household appliances by having hot water on demand and can also be programmed to make hot water available during peak use.
